Rivers Correctional Institution
For short we call it Rivers C.I.
It certainly ain’t no place to be
Take one look at us and we’re sure
You will agree
Yet, our spirits can’t be broken or bent
By the razor sharp, wire fence
No matter how useless our lives may seem
We refuse to let go of our postitive dreams
Yes, we’re physically confined
Yet our real freedom is in our hearts and minds
Our inner serenity and peace
Is what we must always strive to keep
An unprofessional officer or a sick mind
Convict may attempt to make us blow
But they can’t succeed and be please
When we show self-control
And use what we know
Untiy and brotherly love at Rivers C.I.
May seem so far away
Yet the voice of unity is among us
Inviting us every day
If we only take the time to listen
To what it has to say
