a strong possibility that should technology is being used on prisoners even though it is supposed to be outlawed. However, even if this is so the bigger question is what can one do about it. Prisoners are signing away their rights when they go through intake and sign those papers they don't read.

All the things/stuff that we know and do are learned habits of someone else, sometime a person will find out that just because they have the capabilities to do something does not make it right.

After this is found out to have been wrong, now one knows better. A benefit of doubt has to be given, for honestly Mikd is not the only one who was doing whatever it was he was doing, and quite frankly they have not stopped.

so sure he deserve a second chance. the Bible state if your brother do wrong to you seven times and apologizes seven times you are supose to forgive im seven times, so 'PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER 4 MIKE VICK AND SHOW HIM SOME LOVE?

A response to ‘Reparations DOA’ by TV One’s Roland Martin

The inauguration of Barack H. Obama as President of the United States of America will increase the likelihood of HR 40, the study to determine the impact of fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality and inhumanity of slavery on Blacks in America, will be passed out of Congressional committee where it has languished for over 20 years. This will form the basis of a reparations accord for Blacks in America. Here is why I believe this:

Blacks in America are the people of the impossible, and never forget this. We have the audacity of hope. Our course of action, including the "Black Media," is to work to convert the interest of the powers that be. Roland Martin is not doing this, and his opinion is based on a notion that he knows "White” people. It is not “White” people but the system and institutions of “corporate” capitalism that is unregulated to the detriment of America.

Now, reparations will not be paid without a mass demand on Congress and the major corporations, let’s be clear on this point. Also be clear, our demand has to be as organized and effective as the South African Divestment Campaign was. If this is done, there will be racial conciliation, because the mass demand will create the social conditions that will become the predicate for both sides to pay the "price of racial reconciliation"--reparations. Corporate capitalism has always responded to low-risk and low cost investment opportunities. Human capital development of Blacks in America is the best investment available.

The longer America takes to realize this, the worst its financial condition will get. The reader should be aware that most of the top financial surrogates are telling America the worst is yet to come. As we watch capitalism eat its tail, confidence of the people, will spiral downward like a funnel cloud in tornado alley.

Contra-wise, reparations will spiral America’s confidence upward to a much higher level than Obama’s election ever did or will. There will be a rainbow in the sky. Without the confidence that reparations will bring, America is DOA.

My summary analysis of Roland Martin’s position on reparations tells me his fidelity and faith in his people’s heritage is dead. If he would look back on the struggle of his ancestors who were enslaved and reduced to property, there were some of his/our people who opined as he does today about "freedom from chattel slavery," and yet the audacity to hope and struggle of others caused the social conditions to convert the interest of the slave master. These are people he is disrespecting while standing on their shoulders.

In essence, my point is public policy and terror in America is still based on race, and, therefore, it must be challenged and re-constructed based on race, in the context of enslavement, and not the condescending notions of humanity.

Obama, change, reparations, will make America better

If you missed it last year, word on the street has it that when U.S. Senator Barack Obama is elected as President of the United States a reparations accord for Blacks in America will be reached under collaborative efforts including, amongst others, U.S. Congressman John Conyers and the National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (N’CORBA). Here is why I believe this, and why Kirk Douglass should make a contribution directly to N’COBRA-Northeast Region the center of the reparations movement.
With direct action campaigns, education campaigns, financial divestment campaigns, town hall meetings and congressional hearings, resulting in public interest conversion, chattel enslavement will be acknowledged publicly as crimes against humanity, in another word, a holocaust. I use the word holocaust as Dr. Mualana Karenga, the founder of Kwanzaa, defines it: “a morally monstrous act of genocide that is not only against the people themselves, but also a crime against humanity.” The holocaust of enslavement expresses itself in three basic ways: “the morally monstrous destruction of human life, human culture and human possibility.”
The election of Barack Obama will increase the likelihood of HR 40, the Congressional study to determine the impact of fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality and inhumanity of slavery on Blacks in America, will be passed. This will form the basis of a reparations accord for Blacks in America. When HR40 is passed and sent to the President’s office, President Obama will sign it.
If the reader says, “no way, this will never happen, and that the “enslavement process of Blacks was so long, long ago,” and therefore, “Blacks should get over it, deal with it, and move on,” you should consider the math which Ezrah Aharone presents in his book Pawned Sovereignty. He uses America’s official version of history that enslavement of Africans in America began in 1619 and was abolished in 1865.
“Blacks spent 246 years in captivity. Since it is now 2008, blacks have been so-called “free” for only 143 years.” This means that 100 years of so-called “freedom” (1865-1965) were spent self-repairing the damage wrought by chattel enslavement. Even today, Blacks as a group, are still economically impacted by the vestiges of chattel slavery and are still seeking recognition as equal humans.
So, of the 389 years in America, Blacks have been out of enslavement and segregation for only 43 years! An educated society will understand that during the 100 years from the Emancipation Proclamation to the Civil Rights Act of 1965, crimes against humanity were covered-up and generations mis-educated. People are so busy nowadays, worrying and fearing what's next. STOP! Think about what you can do to help others that don't have it as good as you do. What have you done lately to "Pay-it-forward" like the book "21 Days To Creating Your Dream Life" talks about? Try doing one thing every week, eventually everyday, to change the perceptions of how people view each other - help someone in need, give to your favorite charity, visit a retirement home and talk with some of the residents about life, help a stranger, hug your loved ones and tell them how much you love them, and most of all - don't let fear drive your life, dance with it, and love life. Try living in the moment, you'll be surprised at what happens!
