HR 848

Congressman John Conyers had introduced a bill that would make radio stations pay a performance tax to record companies that are in turn suppose to pay the artists for the playing of thier music. If you are not familiar with this Congressional Bill you can read more about it here.

When I first heard this I said yes, Ihope it passes. Black radio has never been hospitable top the independent artist. THey have alwyas catered tot he major labels and made ist hard just forindependents to get their music played. We must also rmemeber that there iss still alot of "payola" goin on int he music industry and radio is one of the biggest criminals in that area.

If Black radio has to go away because of this BIll, all  I have to say is what goes around comes around.
